Based on the Letter of Intent for Cooperation between our university and Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, we are now issuing the call for applications for the exchange program for the fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year at that university:
1.University Introduction
Complutense University of Madrid (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) is the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive university in Spain. It is a public research university officially established in 1499, with its origins dating back to 1293. Located in Madrid, the capital of Spain, the university has three campuses. It comprises 26 faculties and offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in five major fields: Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Sciences, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Law, with approximately 90,000 students enrolled. Complutense University of Madrid is ranked 164th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, 1st in Spain overall, and has several subjects ranked among the world's top 100, including Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Medicine/Pharmacy.
During their enrollment at our university after completing their first year of undergraduate studies, students may choose to study abroad for one semester at Complutense University of Madrid. Upon successful completion of the exchange program, students will receive credits for the courses they have passed at Complutense University of Madrid, which will be transferred in accordance with their academic program requirements.
2.Program Arrangements and Costs
(1) Exchange Period: September 2026 to January 2027
(2) Available Majors and English-Taught Courses: Please refer to the first-semester course list in Appendix 3 for reference. For specific details, please consult the official university website: https://www.ucm.es/estudios/grado
(3) Each student must select at least 2 specialized courses per semester and may take a maximum of 5 courses. Specialized courses are tuition-free, but each specialized course requires a registration fee of €550 (to be paid through the designated agency of the host university before admission).
In addition to specialized courses, students may voluntarily enroll in a 200-hour Spanish language course for beginners, with a tuition fee of €2,211. The above fees are subject to change based on notifications from the relevant host university departments. Students may also voluntarily opt for domestic visa processing and overseas service fees of RMB 9,000, which include visa application assistance, housing coordination, airport pickup, etc.
(4) Students may apply for on-campus student dormitories or off-campus housing. Options include single rooms with meals included or double rooms with meals included (double rooms cannot be booked for a single occupant; a roommate must be confirmed). Specific costs are subject to notifications from the relevant host university departments.
III.Eligibility Requirements
(1) During the exchange period, students must be officially enrolled full-time undergraduate students at our university who have completed their first year and are in their second year or above.
(2) Students' majors must be related or similar to the courses offered by the host university and must be consistent with the curriculum of their own academic programs.
(3) Students must submit official Chinese-English transcripts from our university, including all previous grades, with no failing grades and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above;
(4) Language proficiency: Students must provide a certificate of English at the CEFR B2 level or other equivalent proof of proficiency, such as IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL, Duolingo, etc.
(5) Students must demonstrate patriotism, integrity, good moral character, a firm political stance, and both physical and mental health. Applicants must have no criminal record or history of disciplinary violations at our university, and must possess strong independence and adaptability to new environments.
(6) The intention to study abroad must be confirmed with the student's legal guardian(s) in writing.
