1. Laboratory Composition
Our laboratory focuses on intelligent manufacturing equipment and industrial robots ,traction motor systems, hydraulic systems, multi-agent systems, etc. The laboratory is divided into intelligent equipment fault diagnosis and health management laboratory, reliability technology and theory laboratory, multi-agent fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control laboratory respectively based on research directions.
2. Development Direction and Goals of the Laboratory
Our laboratory is oriented towards the forefront of disciplines and the industrial layout and needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and systematically conducts theoretical and applied research on intelligent manufacturing fault diagnosis and health management technology. We focus on industrial motherboards and key functional components, multi-agent fault-tolerant control, intelligent operation and safety diagnosis and treatment, exploring new methods of fault diagnosis and health management, constructing experimental equipment for key core components, and constructing a technical chain for the entire life cycle. The theories, technologies and applications in related fields are closely integrated, forming a research and development base and platform for intelligent fault diagnosis and health management, promoting the development of advanced fault diagnosis technology, and cultivating relevant professional and technical talents.

3. Development History
Our laboratory has been under construction since 2019 and was formerly known as the "Modern Design Theory and Application Laboratory" of the Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing. It is affiliated with the "High end Equipment Manufacturing Research Team" of the college. After nearly 5 years of construction, operation, and development, it has become a stable and continuously supported laboratory in the college.
4. Laboratory Scale
Our laboratory covers an area of over 700 square meters, and the total value of existing instruments and equipment is about 10 million RMB, including 14 sets of large precision instruments worth over 300,000 RMB. The laboratory has LMS high-precision vibration detection and analysis instruments and software, five-axis CNC machine tool digital twin simulation software, high dynamic multi-component cutting force testing system, coupled water tank real-time control system, mechanical fault diagnosis experimental platform and other testing and analysis equipment.
A fault diagnosis experimental system has been built, whose function ranges from single machine/component to process, single signal to multi physical quantity testing, and physical entity to twin model. The laboratory has become an important base for scientific research and talent cultivation in intelligent manufacturing related disciplines, providing technical support and guarantee for the laboratory to undertake various national, provincial, and municipal scientific research tasks.
5. Team Introduction
The laboratory has a high-quality faculty and research team with 8 full-time teachers,whose doctoral proportion is 87.5%,includingone professor,three associate professors,two assistant professors,one lecturer,and one experiment assistant. Besides, there are more than 20 doctoral and master's students in the laboratory. The research directions of laboratory team members cover professional fields such as mechanical engineering, automation, electrical engineering, and system engineering.
There are5 provincial-level and municipal-level talents inour team,one outstanding engineer from the Chinese Society of Automation, andone outstanding teacher from Shenzhen, forming aresearch teamof certain scientific research capabilitieswith a reasonable age structure, educational background and academic background structure.

6. Laboratory Achievements
After nearly 5 years of construction and development, the laboratory has conducted basic and applied research on a series of important scientific problems and core technologies related to high-end CNC equipment, complex electromechanical systems related to industrial robots, and multi-agent systems. A series of scientific research achievements have been produced, making certain contributions to high-end manufacturing, social development, and talent cultivation in Shenzhen.
Members of our laboratory have undertaken a number of national and provincial basic research and engineering research projects, led 6 national science and technology major projects/national key research and development projects of "High end CNC Machine Tool and Basic Manufacturing Equipment", 5 national natural science foundation/postdoctoral funding projects, more than 10 provincial and ministerial level projects, and more than 30 enterprise horizontal projects, with a total approved funding of over 8 million RMB. We have achieved multiple important scientific research achievements. Specifically, we have won 7 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards, and more than 10 international and Chinese invention patents have been cleared.
