Underwater wireless optical two-way communication module

The traditional implementation methods of underwater wireless communication are mainly divided into underwater sonar communication and underwater radio communication. The communication rates of underwater sonar communication and underwater radio communication are both lower than 10 Mb/s, which cannot meet the future needs of the marine industry for communication networks. As a result, underwater wireless optical communication technology emerged as the times require. Its outstanding advantage lies in 10 Gb/s high-speed wireless communication, which fully meets the future marine industry's demand for communication network big data. The developed underwater wireless optical two-way communication module is shown in Figure 6.2.

The system uses 470nm and 530nm blue-green light bands for wireless two-way optical communication. The light source uses an LED array and LD laser, and the receiver uses an APD module. It can be used for communication and lighting underwater, and is easy to operate. It can transmit data streams such as pictures, files, and video files in real time, with a transmission distance of more than 20 meters and a transmission rate of 50Mb/s.
